Equipment Rental
Are the products listed on the website available for rent/purchase?

All items listed on our website are available for rent. We have a selection of ex-rentals products listed for sale here, but if you see an item you are interested give us a call anyway as we may make it available to you. 

Is there a minimum rental period?

The minimum rental period is 1 day.

When does my rental start?

The rent starts on the day you collect or receive the item, or if you want to get a head start on your day, pick the item up after 4pm the day before your rental period begins, if the unit is available. 

Do I need to clean the equipment before I return it?

Whilst our team would always appreciate the equipment being cleaned prior to return, we understand that this is not always possible.
As such, simply send it back to our offices in secure packaging and we will do the rest, however a cleaning fee may apply!

Collections and Returns
Can I collect my equipment the day before I need it?

Yes, you can. However, please advise our staff when you are ordering so we can arrange availability. If available the item can be collected after 4pm at no extra charge, but prior to this the cost of your rental period may be impacted. 

Where can I collect my equipment from?

Our office is at 101A Station Road, Penrose, Auckland.

Can I return my equipment the day after I use it?

Yes, you can, however if you return the equipment after 9am the next day fees may apply. To avoid extra costs, we recommend returning equipment before the time.

How do I return my equipment?

Returns can be made by dropping off the equipment to our Penrose, Auckland location, or sending it back via courier (return courier tickets are included if you received the equipment by courier). If you courier it, the day you send it back to us is taken as the last day of your rental. 

Delivery
Where do you deliver to?

We deliver NZ wide, with most locations being an overnight delivery.

How quickly can you deliver?

Once you place your order, we will have the equipment ready for you to collect the same day, usually within an hour for most items (subject to availability, volume, and configuration). Alternatively we can send via urgent courier, if within the Auckland region, or overnight via NZ Couriers. 

How much is delivery?

The cost of delivery will be confirmed by your Rental Consultant.  Delivery cost is circumstantial for each item, with weight, size, and distance from the depot all contributing to the cost.

Note: Urgent, rural and residential deliveries attract an extra charge .

Do you offer international shipping?

We can offer international shipping, using third party suppliers such as DHL, Fedex or organised via a Freight Forwarder. Please note that we do have locations in Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore that offer both rental and purchase of equipment.

Payment Options
When is payment required for my rental?

Payment is required for your rent at the beginning of your rental period. The only exceptions to this is if you have a Trading Account . 

How do I pay for my rental or purchase of equipment?

For renting equipment, we accept Mastercard, Visa and EFTPOS, or if you qualify you can open a Trading Account. You can also pay online.
For purchasing equipment, we accept Mastercard, Visa and EFTPOS or if you qualify, you may open a Trading Account. You can also pay online.

Do I need to pay a deposit when renting equipment?

No, the full cost of your rental will either be paid up front if paying by credit card/EFT, or an invoice will be forwarded if you have a trading account. 

Do you sell consumables?

For most products in our inventory, where consumables are required, we have them available for purchase.

How do I set up a Trading Account?

To set up a Trading Account please contact our friendly team to determine if your requirements meet the conditions of setting up an account.

Damage to Assets
Is there a damage waiver fee included in my rental rate?

Yes, the price quoted does usually include a damage waiver fee, however, please talk to our friendly team and they advise if the instrument is not covered by this policy. 

What happens if I damage the equipment while I am renting it?

Please contact us immediately so we can assess the level of damage. If a damage waiver is included in your rental rate, it will cover damages that occurred in the course of its proper use, however theft or negligent damage will result in a fee being charged to cover the cost of repair. Do you offer technical support?

If you require technical support or assistance, please do not hesitate to call, or email our friendly team. We also have useful tutorials uploaded on our YouTube channel or on the product page of the individual piece of equipment.  

Can TechRentals set up my equipment and download the results?

For certain equipment we offer a setup and download service, ensuring you get the most out of your equipment. Please speak to our friendly staff to determine if your equipment has this option. 

What are your hours of operation?

Our office hours of operation are from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Calibration Services
What type of Calibration Services do you offer?

TechRentals  provides Calibration services for most types of electronic test instruments over a broad range of applications including electrical, airflow, mass-flow, medical, temperature, humidity, light (lux) and pressure. We also offer both Endorsed and Traceable Calibrations. 

What experience does TechRentals have with test equipment calibration?

With over 35 years of experience in the Test & Measurement business, TechRentals has built a wealth of knowledge and expertise in equipment calibration. We offer one of the widest ranges of tests available from any calibration laboratory in New Zealand.

Are TechRentals calibrations traceable to national standards?

Yes, all our IANZ endorsed and Traceable calibrations are traceable to recognised national standards, ensuring high accuracy and reliability. 

How does TechRentals help with calibration reminders?

We send automatic reminders via email to give you timely warnings of upcoming recalibration dates for your equipment. This enables you to pre-book your calibration, ensuring the quickest turnaround possible.

Can TechRentals tailor Calibration Reports?

Yes, we can tailor Calibration Reports to meet the individual needs of your quality system and how you utilise the equipment, providing a personalised service.

How does TechRentals provide calibration services nationwide?

Although our calibration laboratory is based in Auckland, we offer nationwide service using overnight courier services and our efficient booking system to minimise the time your instruments are away.

Can I rent a replacement instrument while mine is being calibrated?

In many cases, we can rent you a replacement instrument while your equipment is being calibrated or repaired. Additionally, we offer a 25% discount on the rental rate during this period.

Does TechRentals provide shipment services for equipment that requires overseas calibration?

Yes, we are experienced in efficient and cost effective shipment of equipment to overseas service and calibration providers when required. We can look after the entire logistics process, saving you time and money.
